Common Questions

What is the format of the show?
The show is presented in episodes. The format of each episode varies. A usual episode is split into two parts, part one in which we speak about a current topic in pop culture, but then link the conversation to a related topic in the news for the second half. An example of this is the episode titled “A Never-Ending Empire? | An Honest Review of The Show Foundation on AppleTV+”, in which we review the show “Foundation” after the end of its second season. In discussing the acting, the storyline, the plot twists, special effects and favorite actors and characters, we give our personal reaction to the second season overall. We also mention themes explored in the two seasons such as that of an emperor who is cloned, and whose clones rule the galactic empire for centuries. This amounts to hanging on to power indefinitely—a theme that has popped up in the news as several influential world leaders rig elections or change laws to remain in the top seats of their governments indefinitely.  Another episode of the Lex and Tony Show, “Is Silo a Good Show? | Supreme Court Rules Against LGBTQ Rights” also has a similar format, reviewing a show, in this case “Silo”, in which the protagonist uncovers a mysterious leader who surveils an entire population, while making decisions for everyone under the guise of keeping order. We then make the connection to a Supreme Court ruling in the news at the time. In that case, the court ruled in a way that was perceived as unfair by us, but which the court justified under the guise of keeping religious freedom intact.  Other episode formats include interviews of local community leaders and artists, promotion of events, sharing of personal stories or simply reactions to topics in the news.
What is The Lex + Tony Show
Our show is a podcast and video podcast featuring movie and TV reviews, conversations with community leaders, artists and people in the news. We wanted to provide a break from everyday noise in the news and media. It is for people who are looking for good conversation, who want to stay in the know while avoiding triggering headlines and sensationalism.
Where is the show produced?
The show is produced out of our studio in Orlando, Florida. We built the studio from scratch!
How are the episodes taped?
Each episode is filmed in the Lex and Tony Show studio. The show is taped simultaneously on audio and video. We work behind the scenes setting up cameras, lighting and audio equipment, as well as make-up and hair, before each recording; it’s a two-man show! The interview or conversational format of the show lends itself to leaving the camera running while the show goes on.
Who edits the show? Where is post-production done?
The real magic happens in post-production. The audio and video editing is done by Lex—he’s a whiz when it comes to adding motion to the shots, as well as sound effects and smoothness to the flow of the conversation. Tony helps in making production decisions and content editing.
How can I listen to or watch episodes of the show?
The public can listen to episodes of the podcast on Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Spotify and wherever podcasts can be downloaded. I can download my episodes on Amazon Music, since Google stopped its podcast platform. For those who prefer video, the video podcast is available on YouTube
